My friend has a job offer from an Alberta employer. He is living outside canada, can someone provide guidelines on how to apply for temporary work permit? How long does it take usually?

His employer in Alberta needs to apply for LMO. Follow the below link

The employer needs to apply for an LMO. If your friend's employer is unfamiliar with the process, have him send the employer this link:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/publications/tfw-guide.asp

The process is currently taking anywhere from 6 - 17 weeks. He would then have to apply for the work permit if the LMO is approved.

Thank you so much. Another question, he is a filipino citizen currently working in Brunei under employment pass.

The fact that he is residing and working in Brunei, can he submit his application to CIC Manila instead of CIC Singapore which is currently responsible for Brunei application?
