Hi Everybody,

great forum!

Just received my points under EE. 344 pretty low though :-(
Don't see a chance to bump these up significantly. The only way I see is to get a job offer. (got good IELTS marks, good edu, ..just no real job experience in Canada)

How does the process of a job offer work? If a company offers offers me a job, means I am not hired yet, right?
What happens if you got the job offer, you get the points, the ITA, the PR, ... and then you land in Canada and the company now thinks otherwise and don't want to hire you anymore.
Do you loose the PR right away? Or can you stay?

How does the job offer has to look like? Just a formal invitation? Guess it needs to be a contract..

Also does the job offer needs to be in the area where I've worked in before (mostly mgmt business) or can I start in a complete different field (hotel housekeeping, horse trainer :)

Thanks for any info! Good luck to everybody!

The answers are on the CIC website, but for what it's worth:

A job offer will only give you 600 points IF it is supported by a LMIA. Which is an application an employer submits to prove he is not passing on canadians or PRs to higher foreigners. The job offer is not the same as a contract, it states the job requirements, benefits, salary, and location of the job, and should be signed by employer and employee, but it is conditional on you arriving in canada, so it's not a contract.

If you have said job offer, and land in canada then get fired for whatever reason, they do not revoke your PR status.

Hope that helps..
