Hi, I recently moved to Toronto, deputed by my company from Mexico to Canada. I have a 2 year job offer by my company which is LMIA exempted since Mexico is part of NAFTA.

I would like to know if this could make me eligible for the Federal Skilled Worker program through Express Entry?

If you are eligible with at least 67 points then yes. It is based on work experience, age, IELTS and ECAs.

Hi all, I am close to completing a full one-year of work experience in Toronto, ON (LMIA Exempt due to NAFTA). My partner has completed 1.5 years of studying and is about to apply for a Post Graduate Work Permit.

I would like to know if this could make me eligible for the Federal Skilled Worker program through Express Entry? And if is advisable to apply for PR via Express Entry soon?

If you are eligible for Express Entry then you can submit a profile. You may have been eligible years ago. FSW - one year continuous, skilled foreign work experience. CEC - Canadian work experience. You would be eligible for CEC with one year Canadian experience. You need ECA and IELTS.

Thank you! Currently working to take CELPIP exam and send my ECA to WES.

Question, since my partner and I came to Canada through different immigration streams (i.e., she first got a Study Permit in April 2022 to study English and then extended to study a Post-graduate program in 2023, whereas I came in October 2022 deputed with the same company from Mexico to Canada), would it be advisable to submit separate profiles or better together?
