Hey everyone.

Just a quick question that i need some help with.

I may recieve a job offer to work in Canada with in the next year or so (I'm from the UK,England). I was refused entry into Canada back in December last year as the Border Agent thought that i was going to remain in the country for work despite it being a legitimate holiday. Will this have any effect on me getting a job in Canada if i have a job offer?

Also if i do recieve the job offer and i have all the correct paperwork and visa's etc, can you still be denied entry into the country? I don't mean for like a criminal past or drugs etc,but can you be told "no" even if you have all the correct documents etc?

Thank you.

Were you trying to enter from US? Or, you flew to Canada from UK? It's highly unlikely that an Immigration Officer (IO) will refuse your entry to Canada even if you have a valid visitor visa (TRV). There must be past incidents that triggered.

After having a job offer, you will require a work permit. You cannot work with a visitor visa. A work permit will come with a working visa on your passport. If you have all these 3, it will again be unlikely for an IO to refuse your entry. But you have to straighten out your first refusal, they will for sure ask what happened.

I flew to Canada from the UK. I was ment to be staying there for about 22 days but to there likeing i didn't have what seemed to be enough clothes (despite having 2 full cases full of them) then i was asked a few question etc and then i was told that i was being refused that i hadn't convinced them i was goin to leave the country, despite having return flight tickets and even a return bus ticket for when i got back to the UK. Didn't have my passport stamped or anything, only refused on that time.
