Hello All,

I am in Canada on a closed Work Permit from last two years. Now, my company is giving me a local offer letter from its subsidiary ( I am employee of Company A and in my WP employer is mentioned as A, now I am getting offer letter from company B which is subsidiary of company A). Now, my company is applying to change the employer in my closed WP.
I am planning to apply for PR and I want to know what documents I need. Can I apply for PR immediately after I get the offer letter or do I have wait till I get the new work permit.

Thank you
Vasishta

It's most likely that Company B will need to apply for an brand new LMIA for you and you will need to apply for a brand new work permit.
You should probably wait until all of that is sorted out before applying for PR. It's quite possible that a new LMIA will not be approved and that you may not be able to get a new work permit.

In my case its a LMIA exempt offer. I will not need a LMIA number.
