Job duties letter-Manager moved abroad.Seniors please comment

Guys

I left my job 3 years ago and the Manager of my firm moved to US last year but he willing to write my letter as we worked together in an international consulting firm BCG. I cant get anyone from the india office now to write my letter as my known and friends have moved or left the firm,what should I do,My Managers letter will on the US firms one and also his business card will be of US while we worked for a year n half together in India office.

Seniors please comment.

Not a problem. They cannot give this reference letter on their current organization's letterhead so get them to send a declaration on plain paper with all required details. You can get it notarized with other supporting evidence of that employment and submit all these documents in lieu of the reference letter. Attach their current business card as well. That would suffice.

Try getting the letter on company letter head. In case he's able to issue the letter on company letter head, it should be fine. Else, you can try getting a letter from the current HR Manager in the division you worked in (on Company letter head again).

My Manager is working for the same firm in which we both worked together,its just that he has moved to the US office of the same firm.

Even if he's in a different division of the same firm, it should be fine. Have him mention the dates during which you worked under him, your designation and list of responsibilities. he letter should be on company letterhead and carry the company stamp preferably

In that case, you can get this on the letterhead as it will be provided by them in their official capacity. You wouldn't need to notarize that either.
