Hello everyone,

I did my first landing in Canada as PR with my wife few months ago and went back to my home country fo finish some business.
I declared our belongings that we will be shipping later, however we did not know that we have to declare jewelries as well.

We are planning to come and settle in Canada, but we don’t know if we can bring all my wife’s jewelries without paying tax or it must have been declared upon our first landing.

Can we contact any authorities to include our jewelries in the tax free or we can simply explain to them upon arrival ?! We have receipts for all of them showing that they are old and used.

Thanks in advance.

It will be up to customs to decide on whether you will have to pay import duty. Having the receipts will be a big help. Be sure to declare them when you arrive, penalties for not declaring them can be very expensive.

I don't think you can call anybody to get them included.
