1. I am from India, and I wanted to know about the job prospects for Japanese translators in canada. I am JLPT level 2 certified. Can you please also mention any specific state where the job opportunities are high.
2. How far does knowing French help in getting jobs in Canada?

Translators are usually quite sought after cadre. However, the openings r not many, vis-a-vis specific languages. U may check www.workopolis.com for some recent ads.

As for French, u'll definitely have an upper hand at Quebec, Montreal etc. Moreover, u may apply for the Quebec Immigration, rather than the FSW cat.

NOT NEEDED, if u r not going to the francophone locales. At Calgary, English shall sail u thru successfully.
