It is 1:30 am on the West Coast of Canada as we watch CNN and BBC and hear that all the countries on the Pacific are now under watch for the tsunami. Thinking of all those affected by the earthquake and hoping that everyone in the tsunami warning areas will be safe. An event like this truly makes me realize "We Are One". Take care everyone.

Tsunami Alert for New Zealand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Hawaii, and others. Waves expected over the next few hours, caused by 8.9 earthquake in Japan.

Well West coast of US have been given warning...on Fox news...Seattle TV Channel has issued warning.

How about Canada?? Do earhtquakes come there??

Yes, we definitely get earthquakes in Canada, especially along the Pacific Ring of Fire...all down the coast, but they are usually small and cause little damage. We are long overdue for a big one they tell us. You take a snapshot of what you would do if one hit right NOW and realize how unprepared you really are. I am hoping the coast of BC will not feel the effects of this tsunami later today.

It means we humans are still helpless and have no control over these earthquakes. Science still needs to be developed to get control over them. I think in next 100 years may be........

I was in Samoa and Western Samoa one week after they were hit by the 29 September 2009 tsunami. Large boats thrown up on the land, buildings broken and piled like junk where the wave left them. The stories of families who had lost members. It was sad, shocking.
