Dear Sir/Madam,
I am xxxx, grateful for granting me this opportunity to pen down a statement of purpose (SOP) for pursuing a Post-Graduate Certificate in Project Management starting in January 2021 at Sault College, ON CANADA.
I hail from a joint family in Hyderabad. My father runs an Industrial fabrication business, my mother is a homemaker and I have 2 younger sisters working in private companies in the same city. I got married in 2018 to XXXX and we have a daughter named xxxx born in November 2020.
I would like to enlighten the fact we have properties in Hyderabad and everyone in the family is well settled.
ACADEMIC BACKGROUND & LANGUAGE ABILITIES
I went to xxxx and came out with 84% in 2006. Then I joined Intermediate in xxxx from where I passed out in 2008 with 84%. Thereafter, I got admission in xxxx where I pursued 4 years Bachelor of Technology and passed out in 2012 with 75%.
I have scored 7.5 bands in IELTS and Sault College offered me admission in Project Management accepting by score and academics.
INCLINATION
After my graduation, I had to choose between taking up my Father’s business or working for a private company. I am certain to lead the business one day but I need to prepare myself for that as it needs a lot of skills. I decided to work in any Managerial role for at least 5 years to be able to manage an entire business. Upon rigorous job search, I was able to join Serco Global Services as an Analyst in 2013 where I worked for 1.9 years and moved to Deloitte in 2015 in the same role. I worked hard to develop a lot of skills and got promoted to a Senior Analyst in the year 2017 and an Assistant Manager in 2021.
Over the past 6 years of my experience at Deloitte, I discovered the importance of theoretical knowledge along with practical experience. Somewhere deep, I know that it wouldn't take such a long time to reach my current position if I was given a strong management foundation theoretically. In order to reach my goal of working in a senior management role, I can easily project 5 more years which is a long way to go. After deep research and discussions with family, friends, and career experts, I narrowed it down to pursue a course in management. To make my study unique and highly demanded, I chose to do it abroad so that when I come back to India after getting a management certification, I can apply to any top management position as India is a country with an abundance of opportunities for qualified people. Once I gain expertise, I will undoubtedly be capable of managing my family business more effectively.
Canada has the best education system in the world due to a wide range of flexible degrees/certificates, a globally respected qualification, highly expert and dedicated teachers, sterling career opportunities and networks, and modern facilities. I choose Canada as the final destination for my abroad study due to its friendlier and inspiring environment; and quality education for international students, apart from maintaining security and stability.
Sault College has been ranked 10th position among best colleges in Ontario 2018-19. Firstly, it is highly recognized because of its management and quality education offering a hands-on, supportive learning environment that prepares graduates for future success and the ability to make meaningful contributions to the province and global economy. It has been ranked in the top 2 in overall student satisfaction in Ontario and there is no bound of happiness to have the certificate from such a college.
The project management training is, substantially, demanding in different sectors. I gained some work experience as an Assistant Manager and so consequently, it would be easier for me to complete the advanced program within constrained time because I am already accustomed to course overview.

For a short-term view, when I complete the course and apply for jobs in India, the certificate, surely, heightens my value in my resume which assures me to join reputed companies.
INCENTIVE TO RETURN TO MY HOME COUNTRY
Firstly, I have the ambition to run my father’s business for which my study in Canada, definitely, will develop my Managerial and leadership skills. Secondly, I cannot stay away from my family as they have been my constant support throughout my life. My daughter will just be 1-year-old by the time I depart and my mother will be her caretaker during my stay in Canada. So, it is extremely important for me to come back after my post-graduation and establish a career in India. Once I gather enough experience being a successful leader, I would take up the business as planned. I can make the maximum utilization of the experiences, knowledge, and skills acquired from Sault college for the development of my business. So, I will not be extending my stay in Canada more than the mandated time period.
Once, I get a post-graduated from Sault College, it can help me to see my dream come true and aid to provide greater career opportunities in the future. Employers value real-world experience very highly, so I will have a head start over the competition for my dream job. The scope of project management is increasing in many sectors of the economy all around the world, especially strong demand in developing countries. So, In India, I can apply for highly demanding jobs in different sectors as a top management professional and keep growing to be an emerging entrepreneur in the future.

I have explained here all of my true opinions, ideas, views, understanding, and research sincerely and honestly.
