Hello,

I see there isn't any topic related to Jan 2017 so here it is. Share your experience here with new application kit or old one.

I sent my Spouse application package on Jan 2 2017 and it was received on Jan 5 2017.

I am filling the new application package for spousal sponsorship. For IMM5562E travels, does my wife need to add my travel details (as a person sponsoring her and living in Canada) ?

Hi There

i sent my application for spousal application on 6th January by courier. It was received by the CPC 9th January. waiting for the email to state it has been received.

Used the new application form along with Open work permit.

It's a waiting game now!

Thanks for making this thread! My husband and I will be sending in our application using the new kit sometime this week.

We assembled our application package last year before the new kit came out and even though we switched to the new forms (we didn't know they would still be accepted until later) we found the new kit to be much more concise and easier to complete than the old one.

I am sponsor and I did not add my travels to my wife's (applicant) forms.

I have a question.

Applicant (my wife) works in Oman and is an Indian citizen. After we send the file to Mississauga for sponsor approval, who decides whether the file goes to New Delhi Visa Office or Abu Dhabi Visa Office?

Canada/USA. Applicant applying outland (sponsor lives in Canada). Married/Spouse application. We used new forms + old medical and Police Certificate, which we received a little less than a month prior.

Sent on January 3rd, 2017 via UPS Overnight (Express)
Signed by D SEEL on January 4th, 2017 - Left in Mail Room

Waiting for e-mail confirmation.

Filed my application for both premanet residence and opw in one envelope on dec 14 th 2016 and havent received anything yet...i heard it takes at least a month for applications in missisauga so hopefully will get in soon..will keep you updated.

They have to scan your app into the system before you can link. It might take a month before you are able. After you get AOR (Acknowledgement of Receipt--of your application being received). Then you should be able to.

Thanks for making this thread. I purposely waited for better or for worse for the new application when I found out about it. Strange timing because we had everything done for the old application, but I had a feeling I should wait. Delayed sending it by a few weeks, but I found it to be much clearer, and easier applying outland from Eastern Europe. The old package had antiquated post-soviet required documents that don't exist. They made the proof of relationship & living together more strict, though. I am anxious to see how it pans out, and happy that the processing time is expected to be shorter than before.

If you re living in canada inland applicarion is the best option because you apply and get an opw and dont need to extend your stay further while application is being processed...
