Status report - Mon Quebec Project

January 8, 2016 - Launched in early January, the secure space Quebec My project allows skilled candidates to register online and fill the selection certificate request from Quebec.

Due to a strong interest in Quebec and high traffic site, access to Quebec My project can be difficult. Indeed, to ensure the stability of the secure area, a limited number of users is allowed to connect to it simultaneously. We invite those who obtain an error message to try again later.

Some technical errors we have also been reported by users. We assure you that our teams work continuously to improve the performance of the site and we thank you for your patience. We remain attentive to your comments and will do everything in our power to improve access to the service as well as its stability.
Receipt of applications

As part of the regular program for skilled workers , the Ministry will receive a maximum of 2 800 applications during the next period of receipt of applications. Now, Applications must be submitted online through the secure space My Québec project.

Recall that the candidates in hand a validated job offer or temporarily residing in Québec can submit their application at any time with my Quebec project.

Candidates from other immigration programs ( Program of the Quebec experience , business people , temporary and other categories ) must always use the hard copy forms available on the Department's website.

Thanks very much for sharing! :P

Not sure what high traffic is... surely not 10K sessions congruently :)

but well....

(Québec) Commissioned January 5, the new web portal barely Quebec Immigration to meet demand, in addition to knowing failures.

On the forums of online interested in immigrating in the Belle Province, comments are numerous for two days. "Never seen such horror! More than 24 hours I'm trying to create an account, and nothing to do ... "or" This is a pain, I was fine to insist all night and nothing, still unable to connect .. .. ", reads among the 300 comments forum.immigrer.com.

Those who have finally managed to create an account on the portal project My Québec say they have had access after three or four hours of hard. "Anyway, it promises to January 18," commented another netizen.

It is only from that date, the real immigration applications will be stored in the server, according to the first come, first served. The creation of the file, which can be done from Tuesday, is only a preliminary step.

At the Department of Immigration, we refuse to say that the system experiences failures. "There is no real bug. They are told only that they must try again later. In fact, it limits the number of people who can access the application at the same time to make sure it does not crash, "says Jonathan Lavallée, spokesman of the Ministry.

It indicates that after 24 hours of operation, 4000 people had created their profile, "the evidence that it works, get things done."

Mr. Lavallée admits that his ministry is working to "improve the system" in anticipation of the January 18. "Our priority is that those who succeed in entering can complete their registration and that it does not crash," he says.

Number of limited applications

Since 2013, the Department of Immigration imposes a quota for immigration applications from skilled workers, is the door through which the largest number of newcomers arrive. As of January 18, only 2,800 people will present their case to the government for the year 2016. When this number is reached, we close shop. Those who have failed to register on time will have to wait until next year.

"It limits the number of requests that we receive to lower our total inventory. That way, we will eventually reduce the time, and people will wait less time before they immigrate, "says Lavallée.

Those who enter the criteria for skilled worker program are graduates from abroad that could have career opportunities in Quebec.

"Whether in print and online, it is particularly attractive, for sure. And since there are annual limits, complete one is fast enough, "says Mr. Lavallée.

Québec welcomes an average of 50,000 immigrants per year, of which 70% are economic immigrants, business people and skilled workers.
