Hello, all

I am a permanent resident in Canada and I got married with my girlfriend Jun 2013.
Now she extended her status visitor since her student visa expiration (Aug, 2013) and we are preparing INLAND family class sponsorship now.

We are stuck in quite simple question with is "current country of residence" Question#10 in IMM 5008

Originally, she came to Canada 13 May 2010 and she stayed in Canada except the travel.(Only 1~2weeks).
We went honeymoon Jun 9 2013 and came back to Canada Jun 16, 2013 and since my wife student visa nearly expired we applied Visitor visa. She got the new Visa Sep, 19 2013 which is valid until 03 Aug 2013

In this case, Current country of residence period should be from her last entry date of Canada to expired date of current Visa? (07-16-2013 to 08-03-2013)???

Please help us....

I would have thought that if she is a visitor, her country of residence would not be Canada. It would be the country that she will return to at the expiry of her visit.

I assume you mean the IMM 0008 form and that's just a typo :)

You actually DO put Canada there...on the pull-down menu for Status you can select "Visitor", and you can put the start date as the date she first came in and the end date as the date the Visitor permit expires.

Also, the OP is applying inland, so I believe that should imply the Country of Residence MUST be Canada.

I struggled with that one, too. I entered "Canada" as my country of residence from the date of my last entry to the (then future) date of expiry of my visitor permit (which I later extended online as I waited for PR). I'm no expert, but I would say she has "resided" in Canada since 13 May 2010, as she would have no other country of "residence" to list for that time.
