Hi,

I am filling the travel history, but my passport was lost in 2007 and I cant remember the exact dates and trips done. What should I do in this case?

Wow, this is a tough nut to crack.

The best you can do is write what you remember and also write a letter of explanation on your situation. Did you file a complaint in police station for loss of your passport.? Attach that along with your LOE.

I would welcome the learned folks to shed some light and guide you to the right direction.

If you've not done this already, have you tried looking up your e-tickets? Maybe check your email archives, or contact the travel agency you booked with etc.? If none of these work, then enter approximate dates to the best of your knowledge and include a LOE as StAnger mentioned. Best Wishes.

Seems tough. Yes I filed a report but even this I am not sure if I can find. I think the best solution is to keep it vacant and then attach a letter of explanation mentioning the countries visited and purpose along with the fact that the passport was lost.

On a side note, should I fill the travel history since I was 18 or only for the last 10 years

If you or 28 and less, then since you were 18. Otherwise, last 10 years

travel history is not THAT important. just write what you remember. i don't think you need to attach a LOE, dont over complicate things. Just write whatever you remember. that's what i did..

Every bit of information they ask is important or why would they ask it at the first place. Its always good to be truthful and honest. Losing passport is not uncommon and letting it know to officer would not have any negative impact.

I have a similar, though a bit simpler situation: I don't remember the dates of one of my trips, only the month, and I can't check my (expired) passport since my country used to take them away after issuing a new one.
I remember there was a specific line in the CIC instructions: If you can't remember the dates of yout trips, enter approximate dates.
That's what I did, and I've also added a line about this in my LoE. I'm not sure about what to do if you don't remember the trips themselves. Maybe try to do some detective work, look through the dates on your photos, etc?

I think it's better to enter everything to the best of your ability and then explain it in the LoE, as StAnger and MooseNBooze said.

Apparently am lucky, my number of trips in the last 5 years are more than what the application form accepts. So I didnt have to enter the old ones including the ones during which my passport was lost

Hello,
Do u remember how many blank fields were on the application form for travel history ?:P

Hi Mhammoud! I am wondering if you can update me as to what happened with your application? Because I renewed my passport last 2019 because it was expired so I can submit my new passport but my expired passport is still within the 5 year period so I understand that I have to submit it as well but I cant find it.
