Hi All,

After obtaining Invitation , What is the process to obtain Police certificate ? Can someone help me about the documents and procedure that are required for the same.
Also, how do they obtain finger Print ?? Do we have to go to any Onsite Place to record the finger print?

Thanks In Advance

For countries you lived more than 6 months (accumulated days) you will need to get a PCC. Sometimes it takes a long time to get it so it's advisable to get it asap.

For finger print usually it's only required if you are in Canada and they have many centres you can go to get it done. I was asked for the RCMP PCC halfway throughout the application and I got the finger scanned done. It's pretty simple. So depending where you are you can find a centre to do it. Takes about 2 weeks or so to get the results which you then upload to your MyCIC.

There is a lot of information about PCCs on the IRCC website. While there are general rules, there are also country-specific ones, so be sure to read IRCC's requirements for each country.

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/medical-police/police-certificates/about.html

If you spent a combined total of 6 months or more in India since you turned 18 years, you need a PCC from India. If you are a citizen of that country, it will be expected as well.

You will need the FBI certificate for the USA.

All the instructions are online.

You would definitely need to get one from your country of origin and also US. So the rule of thumb is any country you have lived in for 6 months (accumulated days) you will need to get a PCC. Just go onto the CIC website and read what the process is for each country and just apply for it.

Is India your country of origin? Or just for a short stay (less than 6 months). If its the former you will definitely need a PCC for India.

Yeah India is my country of origin. thanks for the information.

Regarding the finger Printing , Do we need to go to any finger printing agency to get it done.

Or can I download the form from the FBI website and print it on a A4 sheet and do it at my home

https://www.fbi.gov/file-repository/standard-fingerprint-form-fd-258-1.pdf/view

Please advise

Hi,
You can get your fingerprints taken at the Police Department in your locality. They will need your address proof and identity proof. Make sure you call them and get a clear understanding before paying them a visit. You can get a printout of FD-258 form or you can order the form from Amazon.
Good luck
