ITA just came but I sent my PCC request today. What are my options?

Hi,

I got my ITA today. I submitted my application last week and I got ITA form the rounds done on October 4, 2017 (473 points). Since I recently started my application during which I found out that I will require the PCC from the US FBI. I sent in my paperwork to the FBI today itself thinking the ITA will at-least take a few months.

Now I am worried that my ITA 90 days will expire before the FBI sends in my PCC. In case that happens, what are my options.

You don't have to worry. You can submit FBI PCC after the 90 days. At the time of application, ad a letter of explanation with any proofs that you have applied for the PCC such as post office receipt, tracking information, etc.

If you applied for a police certificate, but do not have it by the deadline to submit your online application, write or type your explanation on a blank piece of paper and upload it in the Police Certificate section. You must also upload supporting documents that prove you applied for it, such as a confirmation receipt, payment receipt, delivery notice, tracking number, etc.

okay. That is a bit re-assuring. Thankyou! Although I do hope that the new system that the FBI is implementing will speed up the process. And I shall be sending in my PCC request to the Indian Consulate in SFO tomorrow. Hopefully that goes well as well. Damn I didn't know things will be so stressful AFTER the ITA comes.
