Hi I have sponsored my wife and sent the application to Missisauga on August 17, 2010.

September 15, 2010- Decision Made from Mississauga
October 4, 2010- File Processed to Islamabad
June 7, 2012- Started Processing Application

I have sent pictures, phone calling cars with my phone bills for 1 yr (highlighting all the calls I made to the phone card). So my question is its currently been almost 23 months now and I just cant stand it anymore. I visited my wife twice once when I was married stayed with her for about a month as I had university and then visited her again recently and spent another 3.5 months with her. How long do you guys think it will take and what is left. I think my wife's medical might be expired or soon to be, would they send a letter letting her know its expired and to do another one? She has sent her police record twice now. So what is next?

Thanks

Hey Masoud100,

Waiting time from Islamabad is 26 months from the time the file has been transferred to the VO. So you are still within their timeline - but coming to an end! you should be close enough, if your file is not complicated... there is unfortunately not much you can do, apart from waiting a little more. Look at it the positive way - you have done much of the journey already, and each day that passes brings you closer to the PR for your wife. Don't give up now, you have done most of it!

If her medicals have expired and they need a new one, they will send her a letter about it. They have a new provision for medicals, and she might not have to do them again, but that's up to the VO to decide. see here http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/medical-exam-validity-extension-for-additional-12-months-new-cic-bulletin-t106229.0.html

Good luck with waiting - you are almost there!
Cheers,
Sweden
