It is quite difficult to get a work permit if you arrive on a visitor visa. You have to find an employer willing to go through the time and expense of the procedure. They have to apply to get an LMIA which usually takes 3ish months. If they get a positive LMIA you have to apply for a work permit. That usually takes at least 3 months and may not be approved.
