Is Toronto facing an unemployment crisis in IT sector?

I landed in Canada with PR status in May.I live in Markham,Toronto.I quit my job at IBM.I have more than 15 years experience in SAP.I have applied in so many companies but never hear back not a single one.
Although I applied for big post as per my qualification.Am i doing something wrong?Should I apply for entry level job.Is that good for my career?Is Toronto facing an unemployment crisis in IT sector?Please suggest me something ...

Try to get some Canadian Experience through volunteer work or internship. Apply anywhere in Canada( you should be ready to relocate). Always apply with a cover letter. in the meanwhile, you have to find some kind fo work to pay your bills. Canada is in a recession now ...highly skilled jobs are very difficult to find.
