We received our AOR in April 2018 and the passport email request 9th July 2018 but there have been no updates in my CIC profile, it is still showing that my application is in process.

Is that the normal procedure ?

You mean, you have received PPR email? If yes, then just submit your passports. Once Visa is stamped, your profile will be updated.
