Hi all,

my cousin has applied for work permit from India and an agent has sent this offer letter. Can anyone verify if this is real or not?

thanks!
How can he have applied for a work permit? Did he have an approved LMIA? Why does he have to pay an employment letter fee? The process is you get a job offer with LMIA and then apply for a closed work permit through IRCC. All LMIA documentation would be from the government. A job offer letter doesn’t let you work in Canada.

okay. I veno clue about this process. He just wanted me to verify if this letter is genuine. I have no clue if he has a approved LMIA or not. He applied for tourist visa (I sponsored him) which got refused. He now hired another agent in India who has sent me him this letter.

There is not such thing as employment letter fee, so going to say fake. Don’t give any money. The “employer” will file for a LMIA proving no Canadian or PR can do the job, only him. So ask the agent whether there is an approved LMIA for the job offer. Once he has a real LMIA, he can apply for a closed work permit.
