Is this an AOR? What can I expect next?

Hi guys,

Submitted my eApr and paid the fees today. I have got 2 messages in my account. First one says "Confirmation of Online Application Transmission" and second one says "Acknowledgement of receipt - Application for permanent residence - June 21, 2017 " .

Is this second one "Acknowledgement of receipt" the AOR , and if so, can I count 6 months from today's date? What are the next things I can expect to see updated and how much time would that take? Currently, it says we are reviewing your eligibility requirements and additional documents.

Yes, that's AOR. Next update you will see will be a Medical Pass status and Background Check in Progress status in your application. As per current trends, it is taking about 50-60 days for FSW-O candidates to see this change in status.

Thanks man. But when do most applications get rejected if they have to? In this 50-60 day period? Just hoping all my documentation is in order, I have followed their instructions to the T

Normally rejections happen during 70-80 days after AOR

Depends on what is wrong with your application. If you are missing an important document, this is captured in the R10 check and your application will be cancelled as incomplete sooner. If something else is the issue, if you were not eligible at the time of submission, your reference letter doesn't mention all the required information or if your NOC doesn't match the roles, these are all part of the A11.2 check.

So, depends. Hope for the best!

Cannot give you a timeline. For me, R10, A11.2, Criminality, Meds all passed and file was transferred from CIO--> NDVO within the first 30 days of submission. This might not be the case with you or others. Back then (Nov/Dec 2016), 30 days used to be an average timeline. I cannot comment on how long it takes now.

If you want to know more, you can probably order GCMS notes 3 months post AOR to get more insights on your application.

Well, I think you can observe the change of your BG status in your myCIC account. That should give you a hint that your application is progressing. If you see your BG in progress, then the checks that I have mentioned must have passed. There is nothing specific that denotes where your application is. You can either raise a CSE and ask them or you can order GCMS notes and check the file transfer history.
