Hello, my study permit is currently on progress with below status:

**Medical exam not required as I am applying from UAE**

Review of medical result - You do not need a medical exam. We will send you a message if this changes.
Review of additional documents - We do not need additional documents.
Interview - You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.
Biometrics - We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes.
Background check - We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.
Final decision - Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

As I am researching about how long will it take to get PPR (thinking positively here), I can see that I should be on the IP2 stage based on Express Entry (EE) application process. After the IP2 stage, it should be followed with the PPR or Passport Request.

As an illustration: Trend 1: NA -> IP -> NA -> IP Trend 2: NA -> NBG-> NA-> IP

Is the EE process the same with study permit?
