is there anyway to accelerate the TRV transit visa processing?

Hi All

Please advise is there any way to accelerate the TRV transit visa processing? my current residency is USA.
I have applied on 21st June 2016, for a family transit visa.
Please advise if it is required to send my passports to the Canadian Authorities in order to get stamped? Or the visa will be linked to my passport? In case if it is required please advise how long it will takes to get stamped?
Please note my flight already booked through Toronto airport on 14th July
