Hi all,
I'm currently in Canada on IEC program. I couldn't find any info about an income limit on open work permit. Is there any???
Also what I'm very curious about is: Can I register my own business???
Does anybody know anything about it? Some info and clarification will be highly appreciated.

Thank you!

No - no limit.

You typically need a partner who is Canadian to register a business. You wouldn't be able to do it on your own.

That's good news about the income!
As to a partner you mean a business partner right? :)
Then in order to open a business I need go with that person and together register it right?
Just to be sure.

Thank you very much

Be aware that registering a business does not give you any fast track rights or route to PR. There are specific business immigration and startup immigration streams for that which are either very expensive or very selective. Thats apart from the standard EE,CEC or PNP routes.

By Partner believe that means a Canadian citizen or PR.

It's not just the registering - the Canadian also has to typically own a certain percentage of the business going forward for it to be allowed to exist legally. You should consult with a small business lawyer before you initiate any set ups to ensure what you're doing is permitted.

I went to the registry services and asked what information I need when registering a business. In reply I hear:

Driving license
Company name
Occupation
Industry
Address
and about $80

I'm polish national with UK driving license. Why they didn't tell me about all the staff you are talking about?

read this article which has specific mention for non residents registering a business which aligns to advice already given http://sbinfocanada.about.com/od/startup/f/Non-Canadians-How-to-Open-a-Business-in-Canada.htm for a start you are only a temporary resident in Canada and a UK licence would not be any use either for this purpose so can only assume the registry staff assumed you were resident or had a Canadian partner.

Hard to answer that question. Either you didn't mention your status in Canada - or the registry service is only equipped to deal with very straight-forward cases involving no foreign ownership. Regardless, it's not nearly that simple. Either find someone who knows what they are doing to assist you - or do the research yourself to understand what this process will actually involve.
