Is there a way to resume your pr status after you have given it up?

My parents and I immigrated to Canada in 2009. I am now a Canadian citizen but both of my parents couldnt fulfill the residency requirement for two years within the five years because they were still working in their home country at that time. so they had to give up their pr status in 2015

Now they are both retired and both have strong residential tie in Canada(own property, staying in Canada for 6 months every year as visitors) Is there a way to apply for resuming their PR? if this is not possible, will it be more difficult for me to sponsor my parents under family sponsorship?

There is no way to resume their PR. You can apply for PGP, but you will need to meet the qualifications and have some luck with the lottery. Their previous status won’t make a difference.
