i am a US citizen, entered canada but no one told me how long they processed my vist for

6 months from the day you entered unless they stamped your passport and put a date in the stamp

If you don't remember the exact date you entered, you can order a travel history report from CBSA online. It takes approximately 30 days to process, and about another week or two to get mailed to you. Its a list of all the entry data they have collected whenever you entered Canada and they scanned your passport.
