Is there a problem with longer stay

Hello all,

My father received TRV and is planning to visit us in Canada this summer. So far he is not sure how long he wants to stay (but not more than 6 months). So I am thinking to buy a ticket from June first week to October last week (5 months). We will change date if he wishes to leave Canada soon.

Will there be any problem with this length of visit in immigration? Is there any chance that CBSA/immigration officer stop him from entering Canada due to longer length of visit. FYI: In my invitation letter, I invited him for around 8 weeks.

Just wait and see.

If the CBSA officer he encountered at the airport wants him to leave earlier, then change the departure date. Otherwise, let him stay until last week of October.

Thanks a lot for the reply.

One more question, will there be any issue if the return flight is after the expiry date of the TRV.
