Is there a fee for applying for passport in person?

I was planning to apply in person as there is a service canada not to far from where I live but someone told me that applying in person cost more than applying via mail. Is that true?
Are there additional fees for applying as a family in person?

Every person pays individually. Only costs more if needs to expedited.
