Is there a delay in the process of applications sent before feb 2008?

Hi there,

I received my AOR in NOV 2007 from the London embassy.

Do you think this new law has negatively affected how the old applications are dealt with?
Are we going to be left in the queue for ever and ever and ever... and ever?

Wouldn't it be nice to see even a little bit of light as to when we'll be contacted again?

I think they're just hoping that people get sick and tired of waiting and then decide not to continue with the application! Has anybody actually been tempted to do that?

Thanks for the opportunity for my little moan :O)

when CIC had nothing to do during Feb-Nov 08 (while the new rules were being worked on) they were working on the backlog. Thats why 2006 applications were speeded up, but now after the rules are issued and priority is being given to new applications, I'm not sure how CIC is utilising their resources to manage the 'backlog'. The situation is not likely to get in favour of the pre-Feb 2008 applicants if they continue to go by this Last-In-First-Out kind of rule, unless CIC acquires more staff and opens more processing centres.

I dont think "they're just hoping that people get sick and tired of waiting and then decide not to continue with the application" like you said but the new situations is definitely proving to have an impact, positive or negative. Good luck.
