Is the study permit valid for multiple years?

If you apply for a program of 2 years will you get a study permit valid for 2 years or only 1 year and then need to renew it? I'm asking because I've read that you need to provide proof of funds every year, so I'm guessing this means we need to renew it every year...

You'll get a permit for 2 years.

Hello, no need to renew because your permit is valid for 2 years or dependent on your LOA period + 3 months. Just make sure your passport expiration also covers your school year because they don't issue permit more than your passport expiration.

Not necessarily. My friends got for 1.5 year. He had to renew it. Yes you need to show the funds every time you renew the work-permit.
