Is the counterfoil expiry date the same as student permit expiry date?

I have just recently gotten my Passport from stamping an on the Counterfoil documetn the expiry date is set to 31/12/21. My course ends in december 2021. I was under the impression that the Study permit would be valid for upto 90 days after my course ends. Will my study permit also expire the same time as my counterfoil document or are they two separate things?

They are separate. CBSA will issue your study permit when you enter.
