Hi

My mother is coming to visit us in Canada. We have booked his one way ticket. but now we have come to know that they don't allow people without return ticket. is it true? Do we have to book return ticket or even two separate tickets will also suffice?

Thanks
Aaycee

If your mother is coming on a regular visit visa then having a return ticket is a good idea. Sometimes airlines will refuse boarding if a person is non-visa exempt and doesn't have a return ticket.

Return ticket is always a good idea if you are coming on a TRV. Having said that, though, my wife came on a trv without a return ticket and she wasn't asked by the border officer about it. I was really nervous about it but nothing happened. So - return ticket is the safe side but I am an example of the opposite.

All the best.

For a visitors visa the immigration officer will want to see a return ticket. Generally airlines will issue a return ticket that can be used within a twelve month period. A visitors visa is only valid for up to six month.
