is PR apply allowed to file when WP extension in progress?

i have filed for WP extension which is in progress.
During the time, can i also apply for express entry for PR? or should i wait ?

Implied status
If you apply to extend your permit, and your visitor visa expires while you are waiting for a decision, you still have temporary resident (visitor) status. This is known as implied status

I'm pretty sure it is allowed as your status has not expired.
