Is Postal Application faster than an in-person application?

I want to apply for OCI. They are only accepting the application only by appointment and I am able to get an appointment in March-end. I want to visit India as soon as I can for a family matter. Has anyone tried doing postal applications? please Help!

I called BLS Brampton on Dec 9th & they gave me the instructions with checklist of documents for postal application. Next day I sent my application through purolator but when today I checked the status of my baby’s application, it is showing returned because application is incomplete even though I followed all the instructions. ‍

The same thing happened when my husband applied for OCI a couple of years back. They had kept asking for the documents that were not on the checklist provided by them. The same thing happened with my sister-in-law.
