Dear all,
I'm working in Canada for last 2.5 years in Oil & gas sector as senior system integrator.
My total score about 355 because of age above 43 and I have one of my kids born in Canada.

I would like to know if possible to to ask my company to get LMIA letter to increase my score additional 600 points? because I transferred to Canada due to inter company transfer from US.
Please can you advise me how to do that because I want to apply through CEC plan.

Many Thanks,

Frank

Yes - you can certainly ask your employer if they are willing to go through the LMIA process. Note that they will have to go through the process of advertising your job even though you are already working for them. It's impossible for any of us to say whether your company will actually agree - only they can answer this question.

Hi scylla,
many thanks for your reply.
I'm working with my company to get the letter if "POSSIBLE".
I'm wondering what's the different between CEC & Skill Worker if all of them going in the same poll and same SRC.

Regards,

Firas

By all means... Don't be afraid to discuss this matter with your manager.

They are different immigration programs with different eligibility criteria. In general, if you are eligible under the CEC class, it is the easier application.

CEC -
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/cec/apply-who.asp

FSW -
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who.asp

There is another route to the 600 pts., and that's to get a provincial nomination. Depending on in which province you work, you may be eligible.

You can start with the info on PNP programs here -
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/provincial/

Other ways to increase your EE CRS points are to improve your language scores, have your spouse take the language exam, take the exam in the 2nd language (e.g. French, if your first is English).

You (and your spouse) can also do a Credentials assessment (even though it is not required for CEC class) for more points.

Thanks Jes,
I'm trying to get better CELPIP score but unfortunately I need to repeat the test every one month if I can find a seat.
I will check with my company to get LMIA because Alberta provincial nomination needs 24 month to be done and I have only 18 month to stay in Canada (max. 4 years).

Now I don't know what I'm going to do although I have very special job and good income too.
Regards,
