Hello friends,

I am applying from Dhaka, Bangladesh on next month. I haven't seen any clause on police clearance in the CIC website regarding student visa.

Since visa officers prefer optimum number of papers (not more-not less), I was wondering, should I include police clearance paper in my apps?

Any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks and regards

Police certificates may be required for students by some visa offices.
It may be sensible to obtain a police certificate and provide a copy with your application, rather than wait for a last minute request from the visa officer.

Note: If someone is applying for PR, a police certificate is mandatory.

For study permit Police certificate is requirement
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/study-how.asp#step4 ( Section "Security information" and there is no info that Indian do not need to submit Police certificate)

Please re-read what you just linked to.

Security information
If you want to study in Canada, you and any family members who come to Canada with you, and who are 18 years of age and over, may have to provide police certificates. Find more information about the security checks.

Can you please point out where it says that student from Bangladesh and Pakistan has to submit police certificate and it is not required for Indian students. It is a general statement which mean the requirements are same for every body (I guess I made myself clear)

It does not mention specific offices, I have never claimed that it did.
My original statement:

It may be sensible to obtain a police certificate and provide a copy with your application, rather than wait for a last minute request from the visa officer.

See

However, it does not state it is mandatory, quite the contrary, the words are "may have to provide police certificates".

"May" is not a mandatory statement.

True(neither was the "Mandatory" word used in my post), but I was commenting on the information provided by @situsingh and not by you.My point was there in no distinction and the requirements are same for every body(you seems to agree with that. End of the story). My original statement was (please read text in bracts )
