is overstaying in other countries affects canadian visa application?

Hello everyone!I have a big problem regarding my application to canada as a live-in caregiver.I have worked in Israel for 7years as a caregiver.However mid 207 I lost my legal status due to my patient had died.I decided to stay illegally until 2010 but I went home vountarily.Now I am here in Hong Kong and waiting for my LMO AND CONTRACT to arrive.I am just worried because of my overtaying in Israel.I dont want to deny my working experience there as well as what had happened to my illegal status there. I had applied for a transit vosa for canada last August 2010 in the Philippines and got denied.So,I am thinking I havr already a record at the Canadian embassy.Will my application to Canada as a live-in caregiver be denied under those circumstances?Please I need your opinion and advice.

Sorry to hear the situation you went through those times. You just have to tell the truth that you over styed in Israel and denied transit visa once. First you have to get police clearance from Israel and see if they clear you out. Then decide to apply. applying for live in caregiver visa is very different from regular temp work permit because you have intension to apply for permanent residency after the program. Unlike TWP they have to proved to leave Canada after the contact. Which is overstaying with other countiies is a big deal.

Thank you very much for your reply.I did requested for a police clearance from the Israel Em assy here in Hong Kong last January 2012 and this week they called me that it is now ready.However,they dont hand it personally but they will send it to the Canadian Embaasy.So meaning I could not see it.That's my biggest problem. I was thinking that I will attach a letter to my application stating the reasons why I overstayed in Israel but I dont know if it helps.

Overstaying may affect your visa application because you are applying for temporary status, which requires you leave the country when it expires or extend it. If you overstayed in Israel(for 3 years), it is possible a visa officer may think you are likely to overstay in Canada too. So you have a higher burden to overcome in order to satisfy the visa officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your authorized stay. Goodluck.

Hi Cute Angel, How are you? I read your post and your situation is the same as mine. I have overstayed in another country too and I was wondering how it would affect my care giver application should I apply. Do you have any updates in your police clearance and application in hong kong? Appreciate your reply.
