Is my tourist visa valid after my student visa expires?

I got my tourist visa back in 2016 and is valid for 10 years or so.
I got my student visa in 2017 and I go to UofT and there is a chance I get suspended from University due to low grades. I believe my student visa will not be valid once I am suspended for one year. Will my tourist visa allow me to stay in the coutry? Or will I have to leave and go back to my country? (this is not to work, just to stay in the country can I use my tourist visa? Or does my tourist visa become invalid ever since I got my student visa?)

You will have to change your status back to visitor.
