Is my sponsor (wife) counted as a family member in the PR app?

Hi everyone,

Big thanks to this forum. I don't know how I would be able to complete this process without your help.

I am applying to the PR under family sponsorship with my wife (Canadian). We have no kids.

I am currently filling the form IMM 0008 where CIC asks for "How many family members (including myself) are included in this application".
Should I say only one person or 2 people? She is a Canadian citizen so shouldn't be included in the app but at the same time, she qualifies as a family member.. So i'm not really sure what to do..

The answer is 1. For the purposes of this application, she is not considered a family member.

If you are being sponsored as a member of the family class, your spouse or common-law partner (except where your spouse or common-law partner is the sponsor) must be included in your application as a family member.
