Dear,

It is better to enclose your ielts test score with initial application to CPC Sydney for better assessment from Sydney Office. However, if not, even then case will be reviewed on the basis of your Education, Age, Experience, Qualification and ielts score can be excluded which can be submitted to CHC during timeline of 120 days.

There is no better assessment at Sydney due to IELTS. It is a waste of money. They specifically say not to send anything. If they wanted it, they would ask for it. That is my opinion. However, it is a good idea to do IELTS before you start your Sydney application. That way you know how much points you have.

my advise is to apply first and after that go 4 IELTS. u will have plenty of time to prepare and appear for IELTS. otherwise ur app will be late.

Late from what?

Vishal.be.it - Many people have taken IELTS after sending in their initial application to Sydney and found that they did not get enough score. Personally, I wouldn't mind doing that because my English is good but I am sure those people thought the same.

he will be late in filing his initial app as he will have to wait till his result is out. also it is not required at initial stage. i did the same thing and submitted my full app in the last week of june 09. scored 7.5 in IELTS.

Late implies a deadline. There is no deadline. Sure, it is obvious that if he does his IELTS first then he would have to send his application in later, but later does not mean late. The downside to doing the IELTS and not getting enough score is not worth the upside that you get your PR even one month earlier, especially at a time when the applications are being processed fast. This is all assuming that the list does not change, which most people are sure, it won't.

but if someone has set a goal then why wait? anyways i think it is for vishal.be.it to decide what he wants to do? whether he wants to go 4 IELTS first and then file his initial applicaton or vice-versa.

Why wait? so one does not mess up one's goals by being too eager. This is not just my opinion to do IELTS prior to sending in application and I have seen more experienced members like Leon advice the same.

Vishal - it all depends on how good you are in English and how many points you need. Good luck.

Yes, everybody is entitled to their opinion. Everything you do for your immigration is by your choice and I am sure vishal.be.it will decide on the option he thinks is best for him.

The safest option is to take IELTS before you apply. The reason is because you will know for sure how many points you have. This is especially true if you are low on points and really need your English points.

I have seen a lot of people come to this board crying because they overestimated their English knowledge, sent in their application, took the IELTS later, did not get a good enough score to make 67 points and don't have time anymore to prepare and take it again and therefore lose their application because they don't have enough points.

If you take IELTS before and you see right away that you don't get 67 points, you can delay your application while you prepare better and take IELTS again. If you apply first and take IELTS later, you are stuck with the IELTS you get, maybe you have time to take it again and sometimes the 2nd try doesn't work out for people either.

It's like everything else, it's your risk to take.
