Hello guys,
I'm here to ask for help. When I was filling out the personal history, I got a question about my previous joint Ph.D student experience. I got a one-year joint PhD student experience with an LMIA-exempt work permit.
I'm unsure whether I should list this experience under "Previous Employment" or as an "Educational Activity." If I treat it as an Educational Activity, there seems to be a conflict with the LMIA-exempt work permit I held at the time. Also, if it's considered an Educational Activity, which program should I select for my Level of Education—“One-year program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute,” or another option?
On the other hand, if I list it as work experience, what NOC code should I use for this job? Since I need to validate this work experience with documentation, what type of document do I need to provide? Should I ask the HR department at the university to provide an official letter?
