Is it worth spending 800$ on "certified driving course"??

Hi, I am an experienced driver from India with previous driving experience in US, Australia. I have recently immigrated to Canada and came across driving schools stating the doing a certified course does help in reduction in insurance premiums up-to 800$ per year. The full driving course(25hrs classroom and 10 hrs on road) cost ranges from 600 to 800$.

Has anyone had a previous experience with driving course helping reduce their insurance cost. Is it worth spending 600$ for driving course.
Suggestions please.

It turned out to be a complete waste of time for me. In fact, my spouse, who did not take the classes at all, got a lower insurance premium than I did for the same type of license!
