hey looking for some info , i`am scottish , and live on a island 8 miles of the coast of france called jersey

do i need a LMO as a plumber to apply for a open work permit in canada ?

i`am 31 been a plumber for 10 years , but only became NVQ level 3 qualified this year , been working as plumber all the time before my nvq level 3 , worked for two companys (still with one this one they know am thinking of moving but i have my job with them untill i go ), who will provide , working time with them and job description.

was in canada in 2005 for 3 months on a holiday working visa , i never worked just used it as a holiday .

i dated a girl from toronto for 6 months from october 2012 to febuary 2013 , flew out a couple of times , but it never worked out .

looking to go to edmonton ,they have a few skydiving places and plenty places for street pedal bikes and mountain biking witch are my hobbies

also a personnel trainner witch i do part time for my self , witch iam fully qualified to level 3.

is a working permit with LMO my only option?

ive spoken to a few companys , who would hire me but dont want to try for a lmo

iam luck in that i have savings , no criminal record and no debt holding me back

just need the best option avaliable to me

thanks

Hey Ryan,

Do you have any Canadian work experience at all? Unless you meet the eligibility requirements of CEC, you should look into other immigration programs that might be more suitable.

Federal skilled worker program is opening up soon, and then there's also provincial nominee programs - look into those.

Good luck.

Look into the Federal Skilled Trades program -

I think you'll still need an LMO, tho. I'd be really suprised if you couldn't find an employer willing to apply for that (it costs nothing!).

Hi Ryan

My understanding is that job seekers cannot apply for LMO and this is something employers file for on behalf of employees.
