Hi there,

so unusual scenario but I currently have my EE PR application processing, with an ETA of about 3-4 weeks after my current Visitor Visa here expires.

I had assumed the 6 months I asked for as an extension here would suffice with a visitor visa, but COVID slowed that down massively. So it looks like I may get my PR application finalised literally a month or so after my visitor visa expires, which would not be ideal to have to travel back etc.

So is it possible to apply for another small visitor visa extension, explaining I have a PR application processing etc. or do you just get the one, or anything I can do to buy another month or so perhaps? Thanks

You need to maintain a valid legal status at all times while waiting for PR, you can try to extend your visitor visa but be forewarned that such extensions have a high rate of refusal, because you still have to convince an immigration officer you will leave when your extended visitor visa expires.

This is usually when things get tricky, especially if your PR application is already being processed.

Thanks, that all makes sense. I know it's a tricky situation, but I figure I will try whatever I can to stay here legally until the resolution as if I go home, to come back soon after with the current pandemic is not feasible.

Am I right in thinking however, that if I apply for a visitor visa extension, that it is implied statues until it's approved/rejected which may get me over the line in terms of being here legally when I get a resolution on my PR application? Or is implied status not applicable to visitor visa applications?

Understandable.

Yes you would have implied status until the visa application is processed, but you have to apply at least a month before your current status expires.
