I am an international student from China for my PhD study. I intend to invite my girlfriend here after her master's graduation in the September this year.
Before marriage, I think what she can apply is the Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) for tourists or TRV for workers. But TRV for workers depends on if she can get a job offer from any company in Canada. So I prefer she can apply for TRV for tourist, which is more direct and easier, and change it to TRV for worker after she arrival Canada and find a suitable job. In this way, she can have more flexible time and more access for job hunting.
In the end, it is the question. It is just my plan. I don't know if this plan is possible for the CIC.
There is a page on CIC's website--"Guide 5553 - Applying to Change Conditions or Extend Your Stay in Canada - Worker" (I cannot post link, Google the title to get it) . I read through it. But there are just so many things, and I cannot make myself clear.
Thank you for your reading about my question, and hopefully I can get any of your suggestions.
