My home country put a wrong place of birth on my passport. It’s not the city/province I was actually born in. It’s not the area that is stated in my birth certificate. I’ve even never lived in the province where my passport states where I was born.
I tried to change it to the right one when I was renewing my passport at an embassy in Canada a couple years ago. However, the embassy said I cannot change it, and the new passport still has the wrong place of birth. People told me it’s either impossible or very difficult to change it even if I’m in my home country.
I wonder if I can change my place of birth and get a new passport with a foreign birth certificate after I get my Canadian citizenship and passport. I really don’t want to have a place I don’t identify myself with at all and maybe I hate to a certain extent on my passport forever. I wish to have the area where I was born and grew up in on my records instead of some random places.
