I am in the process of sponsoring my wife from China, but nobody knows how long this will take. So I thought it's a good idea to have her come here for a visit while waiting for Landed Immigrant Visa. Is this going to affect the sponsorship in any ways?

No.

The issue is that she will have a hard time proving she will go back as she has already make it clear to cic she wishes to stay permanently. High pssibilties of rejection.

Good chance of refusal, but not impossible. I think the Chinese have a bit of an easier time getting TRVs though.

I mentioned that my wife is Chinese because different countries are treated differently when it comes to sponsorships. And it's common sense to let the wife visit the husband knowing that the sponsorship is a very long process (and they won't let us know how long). However, I don't want to affect the sponsorship in any way. I can't believe how easy is to get a visitor/fiancee visa for USA, AUS or the European countries and how hard is to bring the wife to Canada :(

It is the other way, it is common sense that people will like to come to Canada, stay 6 months and then extend their stay until the sponsorship is given. TRVs are not supposed to be used like that neither that is a genuine visit.

I suggest you compare the processing times between Mexico and China. After that we'll talk about 'common sense'.

If you apply for the TRV before your PR application, if it is refused, you will have to indicate that on form IMM 5669, which asks if you've ever been refused any kind of visa to Canada before? Personally I think this is a red flag question, as are the rest of the questions on IMM 5669, ideally an applicant should answer NO to all those questions to prevent any delays, whether major or minor. However, in hindsight, it's not a really big deal if you have to indicate YES to that question if you explain that your wife is simply trying to visit.

If you apply for the TRV after the PR application, if its refused, you won't have to update any forms or change anything.

It's my opinion that applying for TRV after PR application is way better, despite what others think, because if you're a girlfriend/boyfriend or fiance, your TRV might be more easily refused since they will think you're going to marry in Canada and apply inland, which is almost like a permanent stay visa.

My wife is living proof that its definitely possible to get a TRV after PR application.

It takes double time in Mexico than in China.

More reasons to believe an extension could be requested.

Also the processing times don't mean anything, if you put together a solid package, you will beat the processing times by almost half or more.

My wife's TRV got approved in half the posted time. Her PR application looks like it will be approved in 7 months rather than 31 months posted time.

I started the sponsorship process in April this year. Now we wait for news from Beijing. We married in March, so she would visit me as my wife, not a tourist or a fiancee.
