IS IT NORMAL TO RECEIVE A CALL REQUESTING TO SEND PP TO VISA OFFICE? HELP PLEASE

I received a called telling me my PR application was approved and interview waiver. Also to send my PP via fedex/dhl, as well as to purchase a prepaid fedex bill to include in the package with my PP, so as for them to return in back to me. IS THIS NORMAL PLEASE HELP, because I've seen many people on this site said they receive an email or a letter in the mail requesting their PP!!!!

i can say that Jamaica (the office i believe you are processing out of) has, in every case i've heard of (dozens on top of dozens), only called applicants and not requested passport thru any other media, while all of those cases have been thru local drop off, i would think it's reasonable to assume that this process would continue for non-local processing too....

i'm sure you'll get a couple varied responses, but every office does things their own way and jamaica from my experience only requests via phone...

i know you are anxious and the wait is hard to bear, but hang in there, they'll come thru... if you can confirm that the package has been delievered, i don't think you have anything to do but wait unfortunately... with the state of affairs on the island, i'd say a week or two (or more) delay isn't unreasonable...

In my case during PR processing I got call from visa office to submit my original birth certificate. Also from various posts in this Forum it is understood that some times people used to get calls from visa offices to submit passports instead of letter by mail or e mail.

CHELLEY: Thanks for all of your responses, they've really helped a lot! Well I fedex my PP on May 14 and the fedex tracking showed that it was received and signed for on May 17th. I'm just hoping that I something comes through at least by next week, because without knowing when I will get my PP is also hindering my husband and I from making further plans for sister's graduation in England. I know they had indicated 2wks to me, but like you said because of the situation last week, I guess another week is reasonable. Yeah and the waiting is really getting hard! WILSON: Thanks for the response, I just wanted to make sure getting a phone call was not out of the ordinary, because I saw many persons on here getting PPR via email/post mail!

Do the visa office do background checks after this process of sending your PP also, because I saw saw a gentleman told that to someone on here, he said that's the reason why it takes awhile to get it back???
