Hi Guys,

I have been in this forum from quite a long time and almost everyone applying for a student visa files gets a GIC certificate but my acceptance letter from Humber College says i have two options first one the obvious getting the GIC from Scotia Bank another one is A copy of an Education Loan from an (acceptable) Indian Chartered Bank...

So that means GIC is not mandatory.
Is it possible to get a student visa without GIC?
Has anyone on this forum knows anyone who has got student visa without GIC?

For SPP GIC is necessary and for UNIV one can either go for GIC or Education Loan.
GIC is recommended.

There is a difference between preference and mandatory

Bro for SPP Gic is necessary and for university GIC is preferable but one can also apply with education loan.So in your case, which is under SPP,it is necessary. Moreover GIC is for visa purpose and college never say about GIC or education loan.
